Last week I got an email from Kate, who was hoping to book a session with me and explained that they were just visiting from the East Coast and would only be in California for the week. I think I can honestly say that last week was my busiest week of the year- 1 wedding, 3 portrait sessions, a baby (and HUSBAND!) with croup, a campout with the young ladies I work with in church, various appointments, and a house and family to keep up with. Despite all of that, something told me that I should take this session and make it work. I'm so so glad I did! A few of the images we captured that night are among my very favorite ever, not to mention, I truly would've missed out on meeting some wonderful people.

We met at Balboa, we played, we walked, we dug holes in the sand. It was a most beautiful evening.

*A special thanks to Stacie (see previous post) for coming along and taking care of my sick baby while I shot. I appreciate it more than you know! xo

Oh how I love this child, with her long thick hair and her big big eyes. She's got her mother's smile and I'm starting to get a glimpse of what she'll look like when she's older.

My time spent with her was sweet, and I could feel the bond that I so desperately want to exist getting a little stronger with each day that I spent with her family.

Eme, I miss you so much! Sing a little song for me today.....
Big, big hugs,
Auntie Rachel

So much to blog, so little time.... weddings, families, my recent trip to NM and CO to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday, and my sister's sweet family.

Elizabeth, you've been so patient waiting for these photos. Thank you.

Because there are so many that I loved, I decided to divide my sister's family into three posts- my nephew J, my niece Eme, and the whole family.  I also plan on blogging the rest of my England/N. Ireland trip at the end of the week too...

Here's a boy who is picky about the people he "let's in". I'm so fortunate to have weaseled my way into his little circle. I love you, Jarom.

My Rowan has had a wonderful preschool teacher this year. She is kind and creative and I have literally watched Rowan bloom before my very eyes. She went from being shy and quiet and clingy to being outgoing and happy and the little helper of the class. I got an email from her teacher about 3 weeks ago requesting a photo of Rowan and her Dad for a project they were working on. As I have relatively few pictures of JT, I was happy to oblige.

I love these photographs.
