It has been HOT in Southern California! Not just hot, but hot and humid. The evening I photographed Kent & Liz and their kids was no exception- we all felt like we were in a sauna.

Thankfully, no one told the kids.

I'd pay a million for the combined energy of these three children! They were happy and easy and completely ignored the fact that it was hot enough to make us all melt.

K&L, it was fun to see you guys again, and see how your children have changed. Thank you for a fun evening!

Little Zella, already 9 months old.

She's changing. I think she looks like her brother. I can only hope she'll inherit his curly locks as well.  Sweet baby girl...

Finny :: crazy, happy, pirate-loving, almost-5-year-old Civil War buff who's about to enter Kindergarten.

We played in his backyard. He quizzed me on Civil War trivia. He rode his tire-swing horse. We hung out in the grass. He walked me through the garden and pointed out the different vegetables.

It was a lovely evening.

This was my 5th? 6th? time photographing these darling children. They were most entertaining, and this is just a glimpse, as I decided Finny and Zella each needed their own post as well. More of both of them, up in the next few days.

For now, happy Tuesday!

Durango, Colorado is a place near and dear to my heart. Very close to the place where I grew up, I always feel at home when I arrive there. I was able to photograph an old friend from high school there last week. She brought her little family and we wandered the campus of Ft. Lewis College, enjoying a pleasant summer evening and taking lots of pictures.

Janelle, it was a pleasure!
