I am finishing up editing this session tonight and came across a picture that I love:

Isn’t she sweet? So anxious to meet her baby brother.

It was my privilege this past weekend to meet with the W. family and take some maternity shots. Baby L. is due at the end of the month, and they’re so excited to meet him. They waited for this sweet baby for two years and learning that they were pregnant last summer was a welcome surprise. However, this sweet Mama has Crohn’s Disease and at twelve weeks pregnant, her intestine tore. She went in for emergency surgery and had 9 inches of intestine removed. I’m in awe of the strength of this couple- waiting for this little one for so long, then encountering such a roadblock. They’ve been blessed with a miracle- a baby boy who survived an incredibly invasive surgery that occurred centimeters from his warm cozy home and has thrived and will join their family very soon.
Congratulations to you three! And thank you, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to capture this beautiful and important time in your lives. I’ll be thinking of you over the next few weeks!!
NOTE: If the W. family gets 25 comments on their Sneak Peek post, they’ll receive a special gift from me, so leave them some love!! (To leave a comment on this post, go to the TOP of the post where it says “leave a comment”- some people are posting comments on the post below!)

I told A. that if I could look like her at 9 months pregnant, I might just have 12 babies!

Little T. was diggin’ the kumquats.

I was waiting downtown for a maternity session this morning and stumbled upon this great little farmer’s market. I was thrilled! I love farmer’s markets. When we lived in Kansas, I would walk downtown almost every Saturday morning with my pocket full of small bills and loose change, recyclable bags in hand. I would buy flowers- always flowers, I’d buy fresh peppers, tomatoes, berries. Unless I was feeling extra healthy, I would buy a homemade doughnut from the sweet ladies from the Methodist Church’s stand. There was almost always a little band playing. People would stroll. Lots of dogs, lots of Tevas & Chacos, lots of love and a real sense of community. It made me feel like I belonged. It made me feel like I lived near family even though I was 900 miles away from my family. And everything tasted better from the farmer’s market.
Those memories and emotions came flooding back this morning as I wandered through fruit stands, eying all the goods and wishing I had my wallet with me. While I didn’t get to enjoy the goodness that comes with buying produce from a farmer’s market today, you’ll know where to find me next Saturday morning!

I appologize in advance for the lack of detail… I’m swamped tonight but really wanted to get a sneak peek up for this sweet couple! They’re expecting a handsome (hopefully not 9 lb., right Sarah?) baby boy in the next couple of weeks. I’m thrilled for them! Thanks to Tim and Sarah for a really lovely Tuesday morning session. I had a great time getting to know you both, and am anxious to meet your little bundle when he comes!
(Note: I’m going to gift the R. family a lovely print if they get 25 comments on this blog post! So leave them some love!! …. And READ: to comment, click on ‘leave a comment’ ABOVE.)
