Wow- Christmas is over! My life can slow down for a few weeks 4 days. We enjoyed a wonderful week and a half with my family in New Mexico for the holidays. It was most relaxing, and I was happy as a little clam to have snow for 4 days last week. I enjoyed lots of family, lots of yummy treats, SNOW!, a few rousing games of Yatzee, Christmas music, friends, reading, and SLEEP. On the way home we stopped in Arizona where I was able to see lots of old friends, but specifically my dear friend Jen and her lovely family. It was my absolute pleasure to photograph them one morning. Because I couldn’t narrow them down, here are a bunch! Check back tomorrow (with a friend!) for the new January/February special.
Happy New Year’s Eve!!

I had another opportunity this past week to photograph a newborn. I LOVE newborns! They’re just so… fresh. So sweet and innocent and beautiful and new. I’m in awe at the beauty and wonder of a new life each time I’m close to one of these sweet little people. My friend Michelle had this beautiful baby boy last week and I’m so happy for them and their family. Congrats to all of you! Here are a few of the shots we got of sweet baby B. He’s a keeper! Not a peep, the entire time. What a gem!

What sweet little boys! And how lovely is their mother. I loved every second of this 2-hour shoot yesterday. I LOVE newborns! Here are two beautiful baby boys who are clearly going to be the closest of friends. Carrie, thank you. I appreciate getting to come and do this yesterday!

This lovely woman won a free session through her Bunco group, and I had the happy opportunity to photograph her beautiful family this past Saturday. They’re lovely people, inside and out, and it was enjoyable getting to meet them. We ended up at this locale rather last minute, and I’m so glad we met there! A lovely courtyard with beautiful light. R family, here is a little preview. I’ll have the rest of your gallery up soon!

I took the kids out on Sunday morning before church to take some shots for our Christmas cards (only one of these made the final cut for the cards- there were a ton of great ones!), and wanted to post some of them here. It took some sweet-talking to get my little man into the argyle vest, but fortunately he forgot about it after a few minutes. He and the sweet pea were so cute together and very willing to have their photographs taken. It was a lovely morning and the setting was perfect. Now it’s time for me to order new prints for my walls!
On a different note, I’ve recently found this great new product- Magic Blog It Boards - an easy and fast way to upload your pictures into a great collage. If you’ve got Photoshop CS2 or higher, check it out!

Fast, but fun ~ Southern CA Photographer ~ Rachel Clare

I have three very best friends from the college days in Flagstaff- “Da Women” we call ourselves. Those were easily the most carefree times of my life. I miss those years like you cannot believe. I remember very little of school itself. What comes to mind when I think of my college experience is potato peels and plungers, the quote board, coconut bras, laughing so hard I’d cry (every 10 minutes or so), the ups and downs of external relationships, Dr. Pepper and picking Tamara up at the library in our….
Because we all miss those days so much, we have a “Da Women Reunion” every year where we leave the day-to-day and bask in the joy of laughter, late nights, good food, laughter, shopping, pedicures, massages, laughter, and more laughter. It would be wrong of me to divulge much more than that, but just know that it is pure goodness.
We’ve been a little spread out since college- Tamara is still in Flag, Karlie is in Phoenix, but Lindsey & I are both in Southern California. I’m very lucky to live “close” (read: about an hour and a half) to Linds, even though we don’t get to see each other very often. She and her cute little family drove out for an afternoon of hanging out and homemade pizzas on Saturday. We took a little 30 minute break and did a quick family session. Here’s a little peek…
I love you Lindsey Ann!
